    79 special seat

    Were these seats after market or something that Yamaha furnished? I got one when I bought my first special in 79 and don't remember. I found this one to use for a pattern after many months of looking. They are so much better looking and feeling than the stock seat.[/IMG]

        Hey Dew,
        That seat looks more like one from the 80-81 series, but it has
        that extra little passenger lip on it that I can't see on the stock
        photos in the photos section!? The 79SF has a much flatter profile.
        I have an 81SH, but the seat is long gone, rusted badly,
        replaced with JCW bucket style!

        As for your photo, it is over 2600 pixels wide, the default mode
        in your digital camera. You need to use some image editting
        software to resize it to around 640 pixels wide, about 25% of
        original size. At least you got the photo to show up, some folks
        can't even figure that out!?

                I am trying to tell everyone that it came on my new 79 special when I bought it in 1979. I think it is a factory yamaha seat of some type???!!!
