    Forks

I finished building my forks over the weekend. Everything went fine, except, I accidentally broke the brass air chuck at the top of one of my forks. It not only leaks out air, but spits out a bit of oil as well.

I checked at the local Yamaha dealership to see if I can order a new one, but as most things go, it was discontinued. Do you guys know where I might be able to find one that would work?

As a quick fix, I'm getting a bolt/o-ring to take its place and making sure there is no air pressure in the other fork.

I think I can fix you up with one when I get back west. I tore apart a set for Laura and I believe I have the componet you need. I will be back in SD Sat or Sun. If you've not heard from me by Sunday night email me a reminder. By the way, "Laura how are you doing get your forks back together"?

Yay! I posted that as I don't usually put much faith in the local bike salvage, but they actually had the part. And it was cheapish too.

for hard to get yamaha parts try this place:

GEORGE DANKE MOTORCYCLE, BATTLE CREEK, MI, 49015, 269-965-3341

George used to be a Yamaha dealer, and from what I understand he has a decent amount of NOS parts from the 70-80's.

Up until about 5-6 years ago he had an 1100 Midnight special in his shop that had never been even been registered.
