I just installed a set of accel coils on my 79. I removed the ballast. Used a set of 8mm accel copper wire cables. My question is how important is it to use the resistor type plug caps. I put on the rubber caps included with the cables, but I got to thiking whether I should use the original screw in caps.

Don't worry about it. The resistor caps only reduce radio interference. You may get some ugly stares when you pull up next to a cage with an AM radio on, but do you care? If you do, then by all means get the resistor caps! -

i wouldnt worry about it it wont hurt that much just the radio inrferance but you aint got a radio on your bike do you79 yamaha xs1100f standard
