    (02545) $98.95 Dunlop K491 Elite II MU90HB16 Raised White Letters Rear Tire Mfg.#: 407195

Both are from accwhse.com. The question is, what's the difference?

I figure shipping from Idaho to Southern Utah should be pretty quick.

        Had it coming...

That was a good one Ken!

I run Metzlers on my '80 SG. Holds the road and corners very well. They are soft and I will probably get 5000 to 7000 miles on the rear. But by that time, the side walls will start to crack because of the Texas heat. So, I get the performance I want and the duration for my climate.

I mount my tires myself and take them up to the shop to be balanced, and the guy never has to add weights. He asks how I do it, and I tell him that I pay attention to the dots on the side walls and orient the tire accordingly.

          Ben,
The second one is wider, the T and the U are tire width codes. I think you want the MT but I have not used the K491's, the MU tire may be too wide. Maybe someone that has them mounted will chime in.

            Ding, Dong!!

            Chiming in here!!

Ben, the MU is = to 140/90, the MT = 130/90. I put the MU RWL on mine, and it was okay, had a little rubbing of the RWL parts on the left swingarm tube, but not severe! When I did some 2 up riding, the extra flexing of the sidewall in turns, caused more rubbing!! Thankfully, I've not done much more 2 up riding, and so it should work okay. I'll be taking off the swingarm to regrease my splines, and also add some stiffening bracing to it, I'll probably find a way to narrow it where it rubs while I'm at it!

            So...to be safe, order the MT/90 !!

              Re: Ding, Dong!!

I have seen rubber coated conveyor belts cut right through the frame that holds them. The rubbing didn't do the conveyor belt any good either! Buy tires that fit.

Not very impressed with accwhse.com. Just ordered a Dunlop 491 rear from them.

I was hoping I could get a hot deal and have it shipped out of Idaho since I'm in Utah. They charged me $103 overall and told me there was no guarantee they would ship out of Idaho.

So I'm not very impressed with the price, and maybe not with shipping. We'll see. Maybe next time I'll go with that Arizona company who is much smaller.

                    Tires

Dunlop K491 was just removed and replaced with same. I got over 10000 mi on the old one which still had some fair tread and never lost traction even when dragin' in the corners.

Paid $101 for tire, mounting and balance at Cycle Gear in Anaheim, CA

Still haven't received my tire that I ordered. Been 6 days already and it hasn't show up. Won't order from them again if they can't ship a tire out of their Idaho location. Can get it quicker off the shelf.

Got the tire finally and had it mounted and balanced today. The little balancer weights don't do much for aesthetics, since they just tack them to the rim....

New Dunlop 491 looks good. Hope to ride this weekend.

                        Not very satisfied accwhse.com.

Type of pavement we have here eats tires like they're goin' out of style. Everything I've tried gets chewed up quick on all my bikes. Now I'm buying mostly cheapys and they seem to last just as long as the expensive ones. Ran Dunlops for many years until Metzler came out with the Lazer front, then I ran those. Now I'm sold on CS Barracudas though I've got an Avon Venom X on the rear of my 11 right now.
