I'm wanting to pickup a color tune kit for my 1979 xs1100 special. Any advice on best brand, things to look out for and etc.

Take the cheap one with warranty.... it will work for at least a year, and since you probbably won't be needing it for every day use, it should last you a while.
LPIf it doesn't have an engine, it's not a sport, it's only a game.
