79 xs11 special parts

I travel quite a little and I was in a yamaha dealer last week who had his parts inventoried by the 3h3 designation which is a little unusual? I am told they typically list by the center set of numbers. Found the following NOS items-

LH Muffler Protector- 3h3-14718-00-00 $22.76
RH Upper Cover for headlight- 3h3-23131-00-93 $37.74 (Head light ear)
LH side cover, carmine red 3h3-21711-00e9 $67.84
RH Bar Switch- 3h3-83975-01-98 $62.03 (Sorry its the right side)
Seat brackets (complete) 2h7-24738 $17.24 ( unit that bolts the seat to the frame w/large hex nut the slides back and forth)

He also has some 2h7 parts that I briefly looked at. Gas caps with keys, helmet locks, few carb parts, etc. I could get a list of them next time I'm back in the area.

Couple things. Why couldn't everyone check with their local dealers to check on parts too and post them?

I am debating whether to take the side cover and head light ear. Anyone else interested in the other parts? If so let me know.

I'm not in the market for those specific parts, but as I get my '79 xs1100 together who knows? I am looking for a fork seal spacer and keep running into walls. I am also wondering if there could be something else or a comparable part to replace it. Any ideas? The front-end is a special the rest of the bike standard, and as of this time am not interested in replacing the whole works unless I can't work this issue out. It seems so simple, and yet I'm not having any luck . Ideas?

Hey Laura, I have a set of forks that were removed because of excessive rust pitting on the exposed parts of the tubes. Look up the Yamaha part number and send me the part number. Since your pretty new to the site do you know how and where to go to find part numbers?

I don't know how to use the site for parts #'s but do have the number! Yamaha # 3H3-23146-00-00. Seal spacer. I'm at a stand still until I get one. find a substitute or have one made. Would be interested in knowing if others have had this problem, live and learn I guess. Thanx much for helping in my search.

Looked it up and I should have that part in my old forks and MAYBE this weekend I will remove and send to you. PM with your address and I will send to you. This is only if the weather moderates. Good ole Iowa weather, "if you don't like it now wait 24 hours" ice storm this a.m., suppose to warm up to 45 degrees then 6" of snow predicted for Monday......

Anyone out there have Laura's seal spacer laying around? If not I will remove from a junk set of forks.

Laura has been looking, but I don't think anyone has been able to really help much. If you can, please go ahead and send her the parts. I'd love to hear of one more bike back on the road.

Diver/Laura- pulled one side of forks apart and removed the item with the part number that you are looking for. But, before I send to you, just want to be SURE one final time this is what you are looking for. I have a picture but ME NOT SMART ENOUGH to post. The item I have LOOKS like more of a seal than a spacer? It is only 1/8 " tall. I will email both of you a picture so you can be sure this is what it should be. Let me know.
