  • Keys

My 14 month old decided to play hide daddys keys the other day and I can not seem to find them anywhere. We are doing some remodeling and I fear that he may have placed them in something that has been thrown away. Any way to find another one, or do I have to replace the ignition? If so how much PITA factor is involved in that?

take the switch out. take it to a good bike shop that makes keys. they can make a new key from the number on the switch.

Doesn't have to be a bike shop, any competent locksmith should be able to do it.

          Keyed up?!

Thought I read here somewhere that you can get the key (if you have the #) at reasonable price the Yamaha dealer.

Hope so, I need to get keys for the MNS soon.

Ditto on the locksmith route - had to do the same early last year as the stepson lost my only key. The lock cylinder removal is not much more challenging than removing the headlight.

they were in a bag from Lowes that was hanging on the front door knob. It had some new paint brushes in it. I SWEAR that I had looked in it two times already!!!!
