        It's gone now

I'm gonna take it. You guys can look it over good June 4 - 5 on the Solvang run. I was gonna ride Rusty Dribbles, but it is a riding machine, not a polisher and shows her age. I figgered I'd have to bring bags for those who rode with me. LOL I'll keep the touring machine with bags etc for those long trips and ride Beauty for show off rides. He He He Gonna go up to Fraizer Park soon and ride her home.

                      I call dibs

Looks like I joined the club in style. I have purchased this XS11 off ebay. I'm taking a train down from Portland, OR and picking up the bike in Bakersfield, CA. Then, it's off to San Francisco for a night on the town. After that, the rest of the way back up north is going to be on Route One and Hwy 101. I am extremely excited about owning this bike and going on this trip. I'll put some pictures of this badboy crossing the Golden Gate up on this site when I get home. I just thought I should let you guys know it's going to a true XS11 fan and someone who will be riding it for years to come. Now I can take advantage of the advice on this site to help me keep it running!

                                The Ultimate Test Drive

I couldn't be happier with this XS11. Due to train delays I ended up driving the 1000 miles home in about 46 hours. My previous bike was an 82 Virago 750, and I would be crippled if I tried even half that amount of driving on it. Even though the XS11 is nearly 100lbs heavier than the Virago it also seemed easier to handle due to the way it is balanced. This bike is simply amazing. It's like riding on a jet engine. The Redwood Run was going on in Northern California (which is apparently some kind of Harley Rider's Rally). Needless to say there are a lot of Harley riders who won't be mentioning the guy in the suit and tie on a Yamaha who smoked their gang like it was standing still. I had heard that these bikes weren't so good for lower speed driving around town and I have to say that I have no idea where that sentiment came from. I am finding this XS11 to be a smooth ride around parking lots, around the block, across town, and across the country. I really can't say enough good things about it.

Special thanks to Mike Berg who sold it to me. If you ever have a chance to deal with him, don't hesitate. He's a stand-up guy.
