Can anyone tell me where the throttle chop info is located in the forum??? I know that I've seen it here before. The bike (xs11g 1980) misses when adding throttle. Doesn't appere to be rpm dependent more about how much throttle you give it. I do have an exaust leak on #1 at the cylinder (parts on order)

Fix the exhaust leak, go from there.

do what storm said and then look into the carbs and the coils you might have to rebuild the carbs and then get new coils if fixing the carbs dont fix your problem

          Hey there Railroad,

Check your vacuum hoses, the one going to the vacuum advance module, make sure it's connected to the #2 Carb metal port on the body, not the Intake Manifold! Pull the cover off the ignition cover and check to make sure the vacuum actuator is moving, apply some suction to the hose, watch the timing plate rotate, see if it holds it's position when suction is maintained.

Small exhaust leaks usually will cause some popping on decel, could cause a slight lean condition for that cylinder, but not a miss!?

Also, disconnect the vacuum advance hose, cap off the carb port, and then try driving it and see if the miss is still there. IF not, then it could be the pickup coil wires, misses can occur with partial breaks in the PU wires, and the rotation of the timing plate flexes the wires, and can cause an intermittent miss!

I finally finished my exhausts... it broke my heart as the original 4in2 system got chopped off, but the mufflers are beyond salvation. Put my home-made ones on and they look great!
I hope I solved my tranny problems too. Will report after a test ride (when I started to work on the bike today it was nice, a bit cloudy, 11 degrees centigrade.... when I finished it was -1 centigrade, 60 cm of snow). I hate snow.
Anyway... fix the exhaust leak, sync the carbs, check boots for cracks, leaks, etc., then go from there.... is it rich or lean. Also check the vacuum advance hose, and check the advance mechanism.... and set the ignition timing. And adjust your cam chain tensioner.
