Do you have a part number for the clamp? I went to their site, but I couldn't find the clamp you decsribed.

How do these dampers mount to the forks to provide damping? We're not talking fork bracing, but some kind of steering bracing?

It's a shock absorber from the forks (which wobble) to the frame (which shouldn't ).
This allows slow , normal steering inputs but resists fast inputs.... steering wobble.Pat Kelly

To what location of the fork(s) are they attached? To what point of the frame?

a thousand words?
Yeah Ben,
There a numerous ways to mount them but here's a few pics.
The hydraulics of the stabilizer/damper allow slow to moderate ...but dampen sudden rapid movement like what you might experience when hitting an bump at high speed or encountering a high speed wobble (tank slapper).

I guess I'm just not as sensitive a guy as ol' Pro!! I never feel mine shake, but if I am going slow... say 35 mph or less, and have to take both hands off the bars for something, sometimes (Not every time) it will start a tiny shake that will continue to get larger and larger in a hurry until it would become a tank slapper. I have about 3 or 4 seconds until it gets unmanageable and have to grab the bars. I havent tried it lately now that I think of it, but when it did it, i was having front brake probs and I think the pads might have been dragging just a touch. I may try it tomorrow and see.... heck, it's supposed to be nice. I might try to see if I notice anything around 120-125!
