On the 650 there is only one inlet tee, so the rest of the connetors are just bits of pipe to connect the other carbs to the fuel inlet. Looks somebody added a tee and left the rest as is.
OK, if the hoses are not needed (carb not drilled) then you could leave the carbs assembled and simply blow into the hose from the airbox end. It either allows air into the carbs or it doesn't. Leaving them hooked-up does no harm because the nipples in the airbox should be plugged in dome way to keep out dirt. You may want to look at the niples on your airbox to see if they are already plugged with plastic like the 80 and 81 models.
TC sez: I hate to say it but Fish will probably need to take the carbs OFF the rack to figure this out! The newer style carbs STILL have the holes molded into the carb bodies, but they are plugged deep in the holes. The P.O. may have seen the holes and thought they needed the extra "T"s when they may not be needed at all!

Here`s the pictures of the orignal carbuerators and a set I got from ebay. I`m going to use the ones from ebay because what everyone is saying that`s the ones that should be on the bike. Now just a word, the upper T fitting holes in the original carburetors are drilled through and the holes between 2 and 3 are drill too, mainly that is where my problems started because it was leaking gas between carburetors 2 and 3 and the T fittings in the pipe are no longer avaliable from the dealer. So I`m guessing these are a set of mystery carburetors since it doesn`t seem like anyone can say what they`re for.
I want to like to thank everyone who helped trying to figure out what they are from.
Those carbs look a lot like the ones from my '84 ZX750 GPz, a Kawasaki. I'll look them over when I get home. Look at the choke lever...is it a pull/push knob, rather than the leveraged lever used on the XS?

hi all
well i finaly found out these carbs came from a suzuki gs1100
the extra t-fiting on top are vents in case the the bowls overflow
according to the suzuki guyes you run the hose down under the air box so gas doesn't get on the hot exhaust or motor
