Fuel gauge adjustment

My 80G's fuel gauge reads 3/4 when full and goes below empty before I need gas. Is there a way to tweek the mechanism to read F at full and/or E at empty?

My 81H was the same way. Pulled tank,removed sending unit, bent float arm UP a bit and put it all back together. Must've lucked out first try as it works like it's supossed to now, on full when full, and very shortly after hitting 'E', flip petcocks forward to reserve.
