Would like to get your opinion(s) on good grips. Right now, I have plain black rubber ones with ribs on them that get a little uncomfortable after awhile. I have superbike-style bars, and my riding position is very comfortable for me except for the grips. Any suggestions?

No...mine have ribs that are approx. 1/8" wide and run the length of the grip with no change in grip diameter.

        (personal preferance here):
I too have the superbike bars. I use solid rubber grips. I don't like foam grips. I ride in the rain (sponge) and I feel they're too fat. Same with padded grips.
I use solid, hard, ribbed GRIPS (stop thinking that). Padding is in the gloves.
My E has the original Yamaha grips that came from the factory. My LG (with the bars) has Oury grips.

have to go w/ pig's recommendation. I just got them on mine and love them. Not only are they very comfortabe but they larger diameter makes the throttle seem less touchy and smoother to operate.

On the recommendation of some people here, particularly xs650mike, I just put on Oury grips. Had to order them, as nobody around here stocks them. Love em so far. Good size, nice rubber compound, look good and are comfy.

I like the OEM Yamaha sport bike R1/R6 grips. I have them on both of my XS. Superbike bars on one and homade clubman style on the other, the clubmans I run upside down though.
