    I was wondering if anyone had the valve lift numbers on 79SF, I found them for the 78E are they close?

    Intake= .347
    Exhaust= .327

    also what about the duration?

    Less of a RISE!

    Well, this info I found/calculated from the Service Data sheets off of the Yamaha Web site Parts fiche pages, by subtracting the total base round size of the cam from the total cam lobe size yields these values:

    79SF
    Intake=.333
    Exh=0.313

    The 79F Int=.334
    Exh=.314

    Essentially no difference from standard and special of same year, but definitely less than the 78E!!!

    Sorry, no info on DURATION of cams!

        Thanks alot guys,

        I was wanting to add a new cam but I dont really have the money to have the heads ported and relieved and valves reseated, I need some advice

        Possible New cam
        valve lift .365
        duration 283 @.050 246

        any experiences with this cam, or suggest another one?

        Wait and do it all at once, or a piece at a time?
