xs11 special gas tank seal

Anyone tried a 650 gas tank lid seal from Mikes XS on a 11 special?

Haven't tried it, but the XS Parts Finder site says that the gas cap gasket, part no. 2M0-24641-00-00. which is used on the following models: SH, LH, SG, LG (plus the 850 models) is ORIGINALLY from the XS 650 SE and SF .

I bought one due to my 79 xs1100 SF's tank fill gasket being cracked and leaking but havent put it on yet. Possibly I'll do that tonight and let ya know. For the buck or so I paid for it I figured it was worth a shot!

Hey Dew,

Here's a shot of an old one on a 79SF tank, it fits around the edge of the cap.


Now, here's the cap on Godzilla with the new seal, you'll note that the inner ring is smaller, but it still makes a good seal!

Hey Theron,

It's Mikes part # 20-0036 for the 76-84 XS650's. The photo shown is actually on my 81SH, but the specials all use the same gas cap, and the one from Mike's XS will work also if your chrome is bad!! Just an FYI!!
