  • exhaust help....

    Hey all.
Im looking for a new exhaust set up for my XS, but my header pipes are still in excellent condition so the only thing that has to be replaced, is from the collector back. I have some short turn downs on there now that I hate, Im looking for a longer, larger exhuast. something like these.....

But I cant seem to find any slip ons that will work, The above menitoned ones are for a hardly ableson sportster so as you can see they are in 2 different lenghts. (one mounts above the other)

Im interested in any sizes, but would prefer the angle cut tip.

Can anybody point me in the right direction???

    Thanks in advance.

try looking online or at your local multibrand motorcycle shop. You should be able to use almost any slip on muffler. You will lose the cross over pipe, and a little ompf because of that. The diameter of the muffler just has to be the same size, or bigger, than the pipe you want to put it on. It should be easy to make the needed shim to fit the muffler.

      Pipes

There is a set of 'spaghetti pipes' on ebay right now. They look great. I may even be interested if the price doesn't get too crazy.

        pipes

Haven't a couple S'ers on here put some fatboy pipes on their XS?? They are fairly cheap for stockers, and readily accessible.

Yes, a few have, but Bauer said he liked the "slash cut" pipes. They will have to be aftermarket on some type. Should go on like a set from HD though.

are the fatboy pipes the same lenght, all the pics I get up on ebay look like they are 2 different sizes as well. I may be wrong though.

Anybody have any pics w/ the fatboy pipes?

            Thanks

.. ok John, how much is it going to cost me to keep you from bidding on those spaghetti pipes?
.. if i was to score a set of spaghetti pipes, say like the ones on ebay right now, i would be more than happy to dyno test that set just to show everyone in the XS11 world just how crappy those pipes really are and that nobody should bid on said pipes.. everyone should save their money for something better and far more appealing to the ears like a nice set of slash cut slip ons.. cause all the honey's would want to ride on back of a cool guys bike with the cool slash cuts.. remember women equate penis size with exhaust girth.. i mean what kinda sissy puts something called spaghetti on such a manly machine anyway!

GNE, the real honeys say size don't matter but you know the pipes are loud if you hear them at 120kph those megaphones if unobstructed they're wicked inside tunnels or even an underpass mine had totally hollow 4-2 mufflers the same. 300 decibles or something.
