I'm having trouble locating a turn signal switch for my '79 XS11

I believe the part number is 2h7-83973-00-98

Any direction to where I might find one???

    Thanks

Probably best to watch ebay. You should be able to get the whole enchilada for not much $$. But, what is wrong with yours? They can usually be cleaned and lubed and made to work like new. You got a badly broken one?

My signals don't work. It appears to me that the insides of the switch are worn to the point that they don't make contact correctly. But, seeing as this is the only switch I've ever seen, maybe they all appear the same, and something else is wrong???

The part on ebay is currently $16 plus $9 shipping...whats the most I should reasonably pay for this???

I would start with the wires, not the switch. Try a wire from the battery to on side of the switch. I don't have the wire diagram in front of me, but look for the right turn side, and run a jumper wire from the battery to there. If the lights go on and blink, it may be the switch. If the lights still don't work, it's something else.
These old bikes, it's usually the connectors or grounds that need cleaning.

Unless you are in a hurry, the $9 shipping is a screw. Watch and wait if you can. If you buy it, make sure they say it works!

              Yeah, NEWRIDER,

You really need to do some more thorough trouble shooting before jumping into changing parts! First, is the FUSE, they can look good and be bad! Secondly, the bulbs, and grounds for each signal lamp/stalk. Also, the flasher unit can go bad. Also, IF the battery is low, can cause it to not have enough power to drive the THERMAL flash unit. Get a test light or meter, and a jumper wire and check things out a bit more!
