  • Carb Diaphrams

Have a question about the diaphrams.

I have started to pull my carbs apart and have one of the diaphrams on my coffee table (too big for the cat to play with).

Is there something that I should use on the rubber to keep it soft and supple until I reassemble it or will it be OK exposed to the air?

    Thanks

Don't put any conditioner on them. Just patch any holes if needed!

      Carb Dia

It will be ok, if you leave it out for a while. They do not dry out. In fact if you were to order a new one it would come in a box that has been exposed to the air for a long time, maybe even years.

They are in perfect shape, i was amazed. I think the PO, although he didn't care about how the bike looked, took care of the motor. Oil was fairly clean, didn't have any bits of metal that I could find and the carbs look real good inside, boots are good, etc.

        Thanks

The diaphram is exposed to air when it's in the carb, so there should be no probs with it on the table.
