Mid-Ohio this weekend July 28-30 largest vintage meet in the country. I'll be there on Saturday morning. Can''t miss me, I'll have a Yamaha hat on ha ha ha! MV Agusta is the featured marque and this year's Grand Marshal is no less than Giacomo Agostini.

XS650 rally in Townsend Tenn 9-15.16.17

I am planning on making this ride Saturday. HQ is @ Tally Ho Inn. Jetmech Marty also planning on taking his XS1100 there. i might camp nearby.
Attention Darrell Newcomb and those involved in having me impeached as a current VP for failure to own an XS1100. I found it attached to a sidecar under some camping gear in the back of the garage. I invite you doubters to come and see if I really do have an XS. VP or past VP, XSives are great folks. I hear this 650 bunch is too, (even if they are a little quick in the twisties.)
Great roads at edge of Smokey mountain nat. park.

Little Sturgis rally in Sturgis KY is July 19-22 Thurs thru sun.

Last year I went and did a ride into Ill seeing Garden of the Gods and Cave in Rock (ferry on hwy 1 was free last year). MY new Readers digest book, Most scenic drives - 120 spectacular road trips,shows this area and hwy 146 south to Bay City and new Liberty, Ill. I could possibly do this ride of 100 miles on Sat july 21, 2007. This ride goes from Brookport, Ill ( near Paducah) follows the Ohio scenic river road and passes through the Shawnee National Forrest on hwy 34 to Harrisburg Ill. Camping prices in Ill - Maybe $3/night at pounds hollow rec area.

It is a beautiful ride and a good road.

After a thoroughly enjoyable first rally (for me) at "Almost Heaven XS-11", based at the locally famous Cowshed Motel in rural WV last Memorial Day weekend, I am wondering if any members of the "organizing committee" have a rally planned for the Mid-Atlantic Region for 2007? If any better roads than those we traversed last year exist, they are probably in a foreign country and too difficult to access. Kudos to the committe, but the obvious problem is that when you hit a home-run, the expectations are high for the next time you step up to the plate. I'm ready to travel when this year's plan is finalized.

Ok Dean, have '80G will travel, show me the twisties and I will submit my vacation request. Remember, last year was my first rally, so the bar has already been set pretty high, but I know there is some good riding to be had in your area, so I await a reply.

NW IL Ride?

Would like to host a ride in northwestern IL. Mississippi river ride would be a blast! Going up through histroical Galena (where president Grant grew up) Savana, Across the Mississippi and then up to Debuque Ia. Back through Wisconsin. Great roads with a fair amount of twisties. I wouldn't know where to begin or if there is anyone in the area that would come for the ride. we would begin the ride in Rockfalls IL. Just off of Interstate 88. Easy to get to by interstate.

Sids's still out there, over in Laydsmith on Vancouver Island. I get notes from him just about daily, and let me tell you, he comes across some pretty interesting stuff some days. He doesn't post here, but I think he is still active over at one of the Yahoo groups.

John The yamaha 650 society will host a dogwood rally at Two wheels only at Two wheels only Suches, Ga April 20,21,22. 2007

I've heard so much about Suches, it's only a matter of time until I make the trip down. This may be the year. I know that many of the XS-11 owners also have a 650 in the stable as well. Unfortunately, mine isn't running at present, so if I am able to attend, it will be on the Eleven. Thanks for the invitation!
