  • Koni shocks - need opinions ASAP

Well... I found a set on ebay. Its a day till the end of the auction. I could really appretiate some info on this. Some oppinions of you guys who have/had them installed.
I was satisfied with the stock shocks on my 78E, but the right one was leaking oil, so I got the V-max ones on ebay. Theyre a bit longer, work great while I'm riding solo, but they are way too soft when riding two-up and I grind stuff in corners even on the highest preload setting.
I need some input on konis (ikon) 7610 1407 0299.
I don't want to buy them if they will present the same problem. I'm a healthy 100 kilos and SWMBO isn't quite in the feather category either, but stock shocks worked fine.

    Strom,
I remember the Koni's as being a harsh riding shock. I put progressive shocks on my '79, and they are nice. Ride well when I'm alone(most of the time) and still work well set up for two riders. I'm also on the upper side of 100 Kilos, so I know what you are looking for. I did get the shocks designed for a BMW, about 1" longer than stock Yamaha. They work well, but the center and side stands should be a little longer...
On a side note, how far is it from your place to Italy/South France? I should be going over late January for work, and would like to take a day or two and try to hook up.

As usual I was browsing for a notebook I need on the net and forgot to bid on the shocks... went for 51 euro...
