Are xs650 and up all the same width and strength?

First post test for actual question.

OK It works. Hello all, I'm very glad to have found this site about a month ago. Seeing how helpful you are to one another I decided to join this fantastic Xsite. You folks have inspired me to go out and visit the shed where my 80 sg has been waiting since 1988. She pretty dirty, chrome pitted and her engine looks like a snake shedding its skin. Reading the post on this board showed me how much you all love to get these bikes back on the road. The amount of info and experience here is obvious. The wealth of info "in between the lines" makes this site even more valuable.
Hoping to enjoy the forum and its members.

Any answer to my ?

Short answer, no.
Shiny side up,
650 Mike

XS1100SF "Rusty", runs great, 96k miles
XS650SJ "The Black Bike", engine from XS650H with 750cc big bore kit, 30k miles

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in one pretty and well preserved piece, but to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, worn out and defiantly shouting, "WOW, what a ride !" - Sprung

Thank you for the reply.
Would it mean tht the headlight and headlight holder or tree cover from other bike would not fit the 80sg? I read the front fenders of other bikes fit except for the mounting holes.

andreashweiss..thanks for your reply. Actually I am looking for chrome parts and fenders for my 80sg and don't know which are interchangeable. Engines seem to be easier to figure but the accessories are confusing I'll keep reading and learning.

I see a rear fender on Ebay that says its a xs750 special. Looking at the picture it looks very short and has what looks like a hinge where it joins the inner fender. Also looks like there are holes that don't match my 80sg.

Must be listed wrong. I'd probably paint chrome or black on mine before getting one with holes in it.

xs650mike.. is that the kind of fender you have on your 1100?

Never mind, I looked at your bike and it is a 79. You said front fenders would work.

The rear fenders on an XS 750-850 are hinged to allow for rear tire removal. Those bikes still have both tires still in contact with the ground when they are on the center stand, and the 18 inch tire is too tall to clear the rear fender. I used to own an XS750 Special when I bought my 80SG. Anyway, theywill not fit on an 11. The front fenders will fit, though.
