  • Anybody know a source

I'm looking for 4 each of 2A2-14172-42-00 JET, AIR PILOT (#210) for a 78E. I check Bike Bandit, Part N More, XS Part Number Finder say's no longer availible and no crossover, I have 4 good 180 for trade if anybody interested. It's part # 55 on the Yamaha parts site.
There's always a way, figure it out.

    Hi Pathfinder,

MR Cycles website shows "PILOT JET,AIR #210 (2A2-14172-42-00)" for $7.09.

Bike Bandit show this part as 'discontinued'. I don't know if MR Cycle really do have it in stock, they may just show all part prices anyway.

Hey Lamric, I found Mr Motorcycle late last night and ordered them this morning. Every wierd thing I could think of they had. Cross your fingers for me.

John, motorcyclecarbs.com shows all kinds with Mikuni part #, not sure without calling & Mr motorcycle had other things I needed.

Mr motorcycle has a very nice site if you have the Yamaha part #, I'll let you all know if I would recomend based on delivery time.

        Thanks guys

Pathfinder, can you let me know how your order goes 'cos they list all parts and it may be they only find out after ordering that a part is discontinued.

I've hesitated before putting their prices into my XS Part Number Finder in case they show prices for parts they don't have.

          Fingers now crossed.

Got an email from them that said all parts I had ordered have been discontinued by YAMAHA. That sucks. In talking to them they stock very little and just buy items as needed to fill orders. Never again.

Still needing the 4 each of 2A2-14172-42-00 JET, AIR PILOT (#210) to get mine running. I have a set of #180 & a set of #185, does anybody know if they can be drilled out and to what size to make them #210'S.

Dave, try the other places that I mentioned. motorcyclecarbs.com has a phone numer onte home page. I have called and talked to the owner, Rob Reil last year when I was rebuilding the 78 carbs that I have on my 80SG. He stocks a lot of OEM stuff, and he is very knowledgable about these Mikuni's. He is XSive also. He is a member of the triples forum, and I think some of our Southeast members know him personally.

I've got a good friend who has used him in the past and liked him and his work.

He did not have either nor any source for them, but very fast response.

I sent an email to motorcyclecarbs.com but have not recieved an answer yet.

Pathfinder, Shame about MR Cycles they show some pretty good prices - but then anyone can show good prices for stuff they haven't got.

Googled these guys Vintage Trail & Dirt. I've not used them before. Anyone here used them ?

Anyway, they list "2A2-14172-42" as being in stock.

                  Fingers crossed again.

John, still no answer from motorcyclecarbs.com.

Path, I just go to any motorbike shop for mikuni jets. They get them in within a day or two. You realise going from 180's to 210's is gonna lean out the low rev circuit? Low revs are liable to go 'fluffy' without either a float tweak or a size increase on the pilot fuel jets.

pggg, #210 came out #210 goes back in. It ran great with those since it was new. They were FUBAR'd when removed for cleaning, bad black cruddy stuff in there, I had removed 1 & 4 before and cleaned but never could get 2 or 3 out. I put the #180 in and it stumbles bad on low rpm's. I tried tuning it out but couldn't. #210 was stock size in 78.

John, no disrespect meant, I didn't have time to call him yesterday.
