  • oil leak help?!

79 F-leaking oil from drain bolt under left side case(below ign. cover). Already replaced o-ring and bolt(thx, andreas!). Even tried additional rubber washer to seal it up. Still getting drops on my left boot. Any suggestions? Mark

.. hi, what i use that helps keep the oil where it belongs is plumbers pipe dope/tefseal, this stuff works good on the drain plug also ..just cover the threads with the stuff and tighten to the torque spec
.. also you might want to check inside the ignition cover to see if theres oil in there. there is a little drain hole in the bottom of that cover right above that plug and it might be likely that you have a leaking crank seal, you should'nt be having so much trouble sealing that plug unless you have a crack in that part of the case.
    .. hope this helps
