Not been to Highway 1 in California, looking at the pictures online, the A1101 does not resemble it at all. If you have been to Mildenhall or Lakenheath, the roads are similar to Jon's road, and very similar to many of the roads in the UK full of potholes unfortunately.

Been down Cali #1 - love the sign posted at Leggett that warns anybody driving anything over 25' long to not use the highway due to the super-tight hairpins. Only road where I've worn tires evenly and not just a middle strip. A1101 appears to be on land re-claimed from the sea - mostly straight and flat with some interesting tight corners that can fool you. Here's a short ride....

I built the motor from empty cases. It has new main bearings new big end bearings a new OEM primary chain. The cylinder studs are from APE and are much stronger than stock. The barrels and head needed skimming as these warp like nothing else!! There's a set of weisco pistons taking it out to 1198cc.The crank was spun up to 10000 rpm to check for balance errors and the rods were weight matched. The head is from a 5K7 and has bigger stainless steel valves new phosphor bronze valve guides and a custom set of cams.It used to destroy 2nd gear so I made a different gear selector drum and deleted 2nd gear totally. The ignition is a Dyna 2000 with a shift light. It pulls top gear from 10mph.I have run a 11.1 sec 1/4 at 125 mph at a non prepped concrete runway. The carbs are 38mm mikunis and the exhaust is a stainless mega with not a lot of baffling 🤣.The motor was from a 2H9 and was sand blasted and coated in a Teflon coating the same as frying pans have.

            In case anyone is interested.

The A1198 road sits directly on the route of an ancient Roman road known as Ermine Street.

The modern A-road designation corresponds to the stretch of the old Roman route running from Royston north to Godmanchester near Huntingdon.

Historically, this specific Roman route was often referred to in later centuries as the Old North Road or Ermine Way.

The original Ermine Street was a primary artery connecting Roman London to York, running via Lincoln.

Today, different sections of the ancient route have been upgraded into modern highways, with the A1198 road tracing the specific path between Hertfordshire and Cambridgeshire.

The road follows the route of Ermine Street between the A505 at Royston, Hertfordshire and Godmanchester, near Huntingdon.

It is a fairly nice road, just watch out for deer, but Jon's exhaust should scare them off

I have the 4 gauge set. I put a vacuum pump on all 4 at once to verify every time I sync carbs.

And you know that all 4 gauges are calibrated so that they all equal?

The Indiana carb sync tool is a self calibrating device.

Jon, YES I KNOW it's calibrated so all 4 are the same. As I said, I put a pump connected to all 4 at once, and verify BEFORE I start my sync. Been doing it for years now.
