    Confused about brake pads

I am having a hard time figuring out what pads I need for my 80G. FA34s in the back... but what about the front? Are the left and right different or is that only on the special? What exactly do I need.

All Standards use the same brake pads front left and right and rear. Only the Specials have a different pad for every caliper.

FA34 will fit all caliper positions on the Standard, all years.

When you do install the new pads, make sure the tip of the small inboard caliper screw fits thru the small hole of the pad. Some brands need drilling out I have found.

I had to drill out the EBC F34s. I am chasing an issue where the front brake lever is extremely wooden most of the time... with very little play... and then other times it goes softer. I have cleaned the little return hole a few times. The brakes squeal bad too. I have a front end vibration at high speed, I am wondering if the brakes are slightly dragging having just replaced wheel bearings and tires.

Might not be a bad idea to take a look at your caliper pistons to see if they're moving freely, it's not that hard to pop them out and give them a polish with 600 grit paper followed by 1500.
