Hello everyone! I am a proud owner of a 1982 Yamaha XJ1100 Maxim motorcycle but, it is in need of a new air/fuel mixture screw for one of the carbs. No matter where I look I can't seem to find a proper part for the bike. I've tried fitting an air/fuel mixture screw from an XJ650 Maxim carburetor but to no surprise, it was slightly too small for the threads to catch. The carb on my bike is a Mikuni 00RR for reference. I was just curious if anybody knew where I can get an air/fuel mixture screw for my bike and perhaps has a link to a known seller of such parts. I greatly appreciate your time and help, thanks!

I looked up the carbs in Partzilla and it does not show the pilot screw. Must be due to the fact they are factory sealed but we all know the seal can be removed for cleaning. I checked Jets R Us and the have a kit for an 81 XS11 that may fit and it may have the screw you are looking for. You will have to experiment at this point.

Your other more expensive (and better) option is to extract the original screw from this carb body. Go easy on the drill bit.

The pilot jet screws for the later xs1100 carbs are the same as those for the xj1100. You can expand your search and they are available from many different vendors. I have used them from china and they work fine.2 - 80 LGs bought one new

As Deebs stated If you look up parts schematics on the later carbs including the xj100 you have you will notice that the pilot screw is not listed. If you go back and look at the 1978 or 1979 you will see a pilot screw. Yamaha capped the pilot screw tunnel with a plug starting in 1980 and the end users were not supposed to tamper with the screws. To add to the list of screws available to you I believe the later XS650 carbs used the same ones.
