  • carb diaphrams

Since pulling everything apart re the head,
i spent half the day mucking about with the carbs,
they were out of sync, and the float levels to low, my problem is all 4 diaphrams have small pin holes.
Since the head has cost me a small fortune, i cant afford
to replace these at this stage,
i was wondering has anybody ever tried to repair them
maybe with sum rubber and glue or something, i know im clutching at straws here.
also anyone know the effects the small holes would have
on the carbies- running of the bike.

Thanks again youve all been very helpful.

I've never had to repair one, but I've heard of people using liquid rubber on them. I've also heard of people using rubber cement and a piece of thin latex for reinforcement.

Yes they would make your bike run badly if they have holes. The best repair seems to be the rubber tool handle coating. It can be brushed on, and when it dries, it is still flexible.

Just repair the hole. Do not coat the entire diaphragm!
