I think that people think their arms are calibrated and over tighten things.I know i do.I'm learning the hard way.

With the head on.Did not use the drill but put alot of lube on the tap.Chips clung to the tap(which i was glad)Cranked bike and chips flew out.Put RTV and let it sit for a week.When i hit the insert with the tool and hammer instructions said to hit lightly.But this is a solid repair1980 XS1100 SG

yeah so i looked at it again and noticed that who ever installed the helicoil didnt drill the whole all the way out so the plug hits and wont go all the way into the chamber so i will just have to drill it the rest of the way. hope i can get it done without taking the head off.
