Hi again all, I used to know this stuff when I first got the XS (79F), but have forgotten some of it . To what does this hose connect to, and where and how, please. I have the Clymer manual, and have searched the forum, but I'm still unsure. The pics are all the same hose. It routes to bottom of frame through a little guard. Thank you!

If the bike is a '79F, it connects to the fuel tank to drain water from the fuel cap.
The '79 SF does not have that drain for the tank, as the cap is different. If like me, you put the bigger tank on the bike, you will need the hose.
The only other hose that should be back there is from the middle drive breather.
The red arrow is engine, yellow arrow is middle drive.
It MAY also be the battery breather. If, like I did, you put in an AGM battery, it is no longer needed.Ray Matteis

Doh! Thank you DRay. It's all coming back to me now. I do have the middle drive breather routed up near the seat, and the crankcase breather hose will go to the stock airbox when I start putting it all together. Working in my storage shed on the old girl today (17*F) I think I had a slight brain freeze. I'll get back out there when it's a bit warmer. Thanks, again.79 F
