    WTB:XS1100 passenger Backrest

    Hey All,

Wife loves riding the back of the XS, in fact it is her fav that I have in the stable right now. She would love a backrest though. If any one can point me towards one I would appreciate it.

I'll check my stash and get back to you.
1980 XS1100G "Dolly G" Full Dresser (with a coat of many colors )
    1979 XS1100SF (stock-euro mods planned)
    1984 XV700L Virago (to be hot-modded)
    1983 XJ750MK Midnight Maxim (semi-restored DD)
    1977 XS650D ( patiently awaiting resto)

Sometimes it takes a whole tank of gas before you can think straight.

I have this K&G rear rack back rest combination shown mocked up on my '79SF if you're interested. I believe it will adjust for either Standard or Special.

You didn't post if you have the standard or special, and what year. Standard will fit all years Standards. Specials are different! 1979 is a "one year only" on the rack or backrest. 1980 and later are all the same.
The K&G that Schming is showing should fit almost all the models, as well as a few other bikes.

XS1100 SF Bob Jones worked on it!

Sorry, it is an 80 Standard. Pic below... That K&G looks pretty dang sweet. This forum seems to have all the answers! Larrym It is running a heck of alot better. I found that it was cylinder 3 that was lean, and I have backed out the mixture screw a turn and a bit and my popping seems to have stopped! I won't mess with it anymore. I have a few bikes in the garage, and for the odd ride the wife enjoys, she really likes the old XS. I don't know if it has the pull of a fighter jet yet lol, but perhaps I am not pouring on all the coal! I also get spoiled from the flat torque curve on my Triumph 1200... can't keep the front wheel down on that one.

Hi Schming, When I had that problem, I found out that I had to delete the messages in the trash folder also. Hope that helps. Bob
