I want to buy a rear rack for my 80 XS G. Anyone got a lead? Also, does anyone know if 79 engine guards would work on an 80? Looking for some engine guards as well... Cheers.

Case savers. These racks will fit all years 78 - 80.

And of course you can find footpegs that will mount on those case savers. I might look into the case savers myself to stretch my legs so my hip doesnt cramp up.

....."the hardware is not included" - don't forget that you'll need longer motor mount bolts to go with those case guards. Seem to remember replacing one at least once after looking at the horizon from the wrong angle......

Yes, you would need to add your own hardware. Usually have to with used parts. Try to use metric to match the bike. I have worked on a lot of hacked bikes that have standard grade 5 hardware everywhere even if it means cross threading. YIKES.

If anyone has a single right side guard let me know, mine got bent and pretty well ground up looking when I dropped it a couple of weeks back.

Finding the longer bolt for the case guards is a pain. I found some stainless all thread and just cut it down to the size I needed and just used bolts and washers on both ends. I stuck with metric.

These three point case savers are the ones I prefer. Yamaha XS1100 crash bars #50 | eBay
