  • Midnight Special "Choke" Enrichen Knob

Is this a stock gold choke knob for a Midnight Special? I think the carb body should be black. Maybe it's a cabinet knob? (From an eBay listing)

If it is a cabinet knob, is it threaded somehow here? Look at the difference in the carb body. Early/late carbs?

It is a cabinet knob, I have done this before, just take an 8-32 die and cut some threads on the choke shaft.

Carb body SHOULD be black, top cover SHOULD be gold, not chromed. I think I still have a set in the garage, I'll have to look and post a picture later today.

Changing to a knob is kinda cool. Only limited to your imagination.

Here is what an old set of MNS carbs look like. These are stock, including the octy.

Yep, we can be pretty clever if we want to be.

Midnight Special carbs on eBay. Looks like he used those new brass tees for the fuel inputs. I just hope he didn't use the jets from the K&L kit. They are junk compared to the stock Mikuni parts.
