Just letting everyone know the rebuild has begun on the old 78. I pulled the tank (which has alot of little rust balls in it) and pulled the petcocks. I took them apart and lo and behold they are not bad at all. All the gaskets were still pliable and not cracked and brittle, the diaphrams were in working order too!! Hopefully the carbs wont be too bad. It appears as though the petcocks kept all the yuck from the old gas in the tank. Also I noticed the throttle cable needs a look-see, it dosent move, probably just needs lube. Next stage will be carb clean up..........Seeya D.
