  • Bought the wrong rear set - XS1100 Sport versus XS1100 2H9

So I am building a cafe racer out of a 1981 XS1100. I bought a Tarozzi rear set online but couldn't figure out how it would attach. That's when I saw it was for a XS1100 Sport. I guess I have an XS1100 2H9. Are the 2 bikes that different?

Does anyone know where I can get a rear set that will work with my bike (otherwise I will have to have something fabricated to use the Tarozzi, since they won't take a return).

Apologies if I didn't post this in the right forum.

A 2H9 is not a Yamaha model- Look on this forum as to which model you have by looking at the VIN number. Then we can go from there but I will tell you this-I had rearsets back in the late 80's long before E Bay. They were from a company called Raask. They were very basic and attached by bolts to where the rear footpegs mount I believe. They will definitely change your riding position.

The European model has a different shift linkage. The side cover looks like this.

Not for nothing but the original poster did not add any other info-no location whatsoever.
