  • 06 Hayabusa front end swap

Hello. Just recently picked up a 1980 XS1100 Special. It's in a little rough shape, but has good bones. I want to see if anyone has swapped in the front end from a 2006 Gxs-r1300 onto the XS.

Most stick with a Yamaha swap as bearings and all usually make it an easy fit.

Yup,I have seen the odd Hayabusa swap on the internet but most swaps are indeed R1or R6. I myself think most USD forks are not long enough to make it ride comfortably, Exceptions are ZX9R '95 or '96 and the '95 FZR1000 Exup, both the models with sixpot calipers. I now prefer right way up forks (but more modern) for my builds: my present bikes have a FZR750R pre-Exup and TRX850 front forks, both with 41mm stanchions, adjustable suspension and decent brakes.
