1980 XS11 Cafe

After about 7 months, my cafe racer build is complete.

It started as a 1980 XS1100 special, had about 45k miles on it, and was downed multiple times based on the side engine covers. I’m pretty young only 19 and this is my first first motorcycle (I know it’s a lot of bike). I think I made it look pretty good and I hope I didn’t make the purists too mad. The last thing I need is some big black Yamaha decals on the tank. Thanks to all the people who helped me figure out various issues along the way, comment any questions and Let me know what you think.

You could also fill in the Yamaha name on the engine side covers and paint just the covers if you wanted to.

Where did you hide the battery?

The battery is hidden in the black box under the seat along with the starter solenoid, fuse box, ignition switch and a lighting kill switch. The TCI was the hardest part to figure out where to put and I was able to stick it just behind the black box under the seat. I’ll leave some photos.
