Are they supposed to be touched If not and they were touched-what is the setting from the factory? Just curious as I have seen people touch these only to sync.

Touch them all you want, as long as the bike is running at optimal air/fuel ratio.

Factory spec was anywhere from 1.5 to 2.5 turns out from soft seat. But, also remember that each bike was sensor-tuned at the factory, so each bike/cylinder may deviate from that spec.

Nice tan plug with a plug chop tune is what you're looking for.

It's preferable to leave them at the optimized factory setting, but when you get a rack that's all gummed up, then there is no choice but to remove them and clean the passages. Sometimes, you know the O-ring needs to replaced based on the condition of the carbs..

It's helpful to count the number of turns to seat each screw before you remove them....just so you can start out close to the factory setting when you re-assemble them.
