  • Exhaust gaskets

It seems that when I hit a stretch of warmer weather I start to get a strong whiff of exhaust gas while riding, enough to make my head fuzzy after a little bit of riding. At first I thought it may have something to do with the fact that my bike is a "bagger" and the pipes end under the bags without going out clear past the back of them. After riding the bike with the bags of and noticing no improvement that got ruled out.

The only thing making sense to me is the exhaust gaskets possibly leaking but you sure can't see it when the bike is idling on the center stand. Still though, how expensive would it be to replace them all? Not a big deal right? WRONG! Holy crap, $35 for four of them on eBay. I've not looked beyond cross referencing the part number, does anyone know of a sanely priced source for these? Any input on what else could be the culprit?

Look for an oil leak burning on the exhaust.

The ones I'm thinking of are between the header and crossover pipes, like an asbestos cylinder.

Oh, you mean the lower units. Yes, $35.00 seems like the lowest price anywhere.

PartsNmore has these collector and crossover gaskets for about $8 each.
