For those who have been following along, just wanted to let you know that the "Dueling Projects" have been completed... FINALLY!

The 79 SF is now my new Army bike, and the old Army bike is now back to being an 80 LG again.

Morning Bob,,,what a lot of nice effort to restore the bikes back to running and riding form. Best of luck in your bike building retirement,,,until you get the bug again maybe. The rally in W.Va. was great, all xs1100 enthusiasts riding one of the best bikes of all time on great country roads. Its going to be same time, same place next year, in Elkins, W.Va.....not far from you so if you feel the need to hang out with the xs gang it would be great. Check out the rally thread. Thankyou for your passion and getting the two bikes back. If you get out this way,,,,Pymatuning, reach out anytime. Its always a great read and great pics in your rebuilding evolution of your xs's. Thanks Mike! And you're right, never say never, but my goal now is to retire from this rewarding hobby.
I sold the immaculate red SF and have now listed one of my Midnights for sale.
