  • All airbox boots are not created equal.

I'm just about ready to reinstall the carbs and airbox. I had to rebuild an airbox that was missing mounting brackets and snorkel and I had to remove the rubber boots to do that. I discovered that the rubber boots are not all the same. The two outer boots are different. They have a slanted slot that allows you to rotate and align to the carbs. All four boots have a rounded rubber pointer for orientation purposes, I assume. The two outer boots have an additional triangle shaped indicator/pointer. In the past, I have struggled mightily with the trial and error method of rotating the boots while attempting to line up all four boots to install onto the carbs simultaneously. PIA! Does anyone know if the pointers on the rubber boots are in fact some type of alignment indicators. And if so, which way should they point? Just looking for an easier method than trial and error which is my usual method with most things XS11 related! Thanks.
