I rebuilt my carbs about a year ago and the choke never worked right since I did that and I'm rejecting it currently so Im cleaning the carbs out. Then I noticed that the enrichment rod goes down into a hole in the float and there appears to be a hole smaller than a pin that goes down and around and picks up from about midway on the float. These were all clogged, which is likely why the enrichment never worked. But, I cant get the last one unplugged, no pin fits and its a pain to find something small enough to push through the hole and clear the debris. Has anyone ever had this issue and what is the solution to it, I don't want to buy a new bowl.

Get a .015" guitar string (B) from the music store and cut off a piece about 3" long. Fill the hole where the tube goes down with penetrating oil and start poking away. Shoot some carb cleaner thru with the straw attached and it will eventually spritz thru. You can then shine a flashlight thru the hole inside the bowl, look thru the top hole and verify the starter jet hole is now completely clear.its a pain to find something small enough to push through the hole and clear the debrisLast edited by bikerphil; 03-30-2023, 02:07 AM.2H7 (79) owned since '89

Update: I used my pressure washer with the 0-degree attachment and sprayed that in each side a few times, cleared it right up, but I was planning on getting some guitar string If that didn't work. Thanks for the tip, hopefully my enrichment circuit finally works.
