The purist in me says to rebuild the oem petcock. The kit that Bandit suggested will get the job done. Just replace the large o rings so that the petcocks get a better seal against the tank. I have had bad experiences with those that come in the kit. They are not quite large enough and allow fuel seepage which eventually will damage your paint.

Radioguylogs - this looks to be for standards, not specials, though right?
Like the original poster, I'm looking for non-vac petcocks for my special. My petcock rebuild from a couple of summers ago does not seem to have been a success.
The link DEEBS11 posted seems to be correct (if not compatible with stock airbox), but dang, they're not cheap.

I believe you are right.
I have those on my XS750 Special, and my Venturer, which are different than the XS11 Specials.
Thanks for noticing!

I'm rebuilding mine on a standard. Sorry to hi-jack, but this thread has the petcock people's attention and I want to ride!
Does anyone know if the little brass plug cylinder need to be loose in the cylinder? One side fell out, I cleaned and put back. The other side is stuck in there.

I still have the original petcocks for my 80 SG. They are sitting in my apartment. I switched to Pingel a long time ago. They were rebuilt once several years ago. The price is high for these but cant beat the quality. The do pass more gas as they say. Some people like the stock things,I like change as long as they work.

Do you have any more info on this? I was poking around the Pingel site and they don't have anything like a fitment guide, etc.
There are seven different fuel valves listed for the FJ1200, wow (not including two dual outlet ones), but they all seem to be just different cosmetically.
