  • brake line question

On my 80 SG how is the front brake hoses connected in the union joint? Does it matter if master cylinder side goes on top or bottom of clutch side brake hose. Does it matter? Just curious. Is there a picture?

Master cylinder hose goes on top of the splitter. The left caliper line goes on first, then the right on the bottom of the splitter.

Got everything connected and brakes bled. Had a few little issues but got it fixed. I used speedbleeders I bought new years ago still in the package. They work great.

Looking in my Moms house for grease tray liners, I came a cross a box. I opened it up and found the caliper I took off years ago. Still in great shape as it has been sitting in my old bedroom.

Question is why did you remove it in the first place?

Years ago when I rode the bike more frequently, I thought the brake rotor was warped so I removed the caliper. I got a different banjo bolt for the splitter and just used the one caliper to stop the bike.
