  • Adapting HD Shocks to XS1100SH

Has anyone on here put on HD shocks on their bike? I like the looks of these: https://www.burlybrand.com/product/2...tto-shocks/320 but I can't find any info on the dimensions of the bushings I will need. Can anyone provide some input?

I have put on the HD air shocks from a HD Bagger,,,on an xs1100 awhile back, fit great, they were cheap on craigslist, quite a few HD owners change out new ones for their baggers, have put on yamaha xj1100 maxim shocks on and they are very good, but the supply today is very limited and old. Suggest measure your shocks eye to eye, around 13 inch probably, and search for the shocks you like. Also members have put on the honda 1100 shocks which are plentiful, I think Showa brand,,,excellent ride, quality...........good luck,,,,Mike in San Diego

BTW, ZRX carbs have the same spacing as the XS11... http://www.xs11.com/forum/showthread.php?t=35462

If it was me and I loved the styling of those shocks, I would buy them and then do whatever is necessary to make them work. You could also contact the vendor for more information.

Years ago I bought a set of Koni’s. Probably not available any more. They also had a dial at the top so you could adjust rebound damping. They still work great. Jeff

I did, they weren't very helpful. I'm going to do exactly that, but it would be nice to order the shocks and bushings at the same time lol.

Yep, well sometimes when adapting, you need to have the part in hand to see what needs to be done. You may be able to modify what bushings come with it or add a spacer to them. I've converted Harley shocks to the XS before. One set needed the bushings to be drilled out and the other needed a spacer added.
