Yesterday when my clutch cable broke on my 80 SG, I looked on E bay for a cable, but they don't have my model listed. Finally ordered a cable on Amazon-from Motion Pro. It should be here by next week. In the meantime, I got on Partszilla and they say the cable will ship in 72 + days for some reason. What is everyone's source for parts like this? Really don't want to buy preowned as E bay has numerous parts like that.

All of the OEM parts purveyors are having shipping issues, not just Partzilla. If you buy a new bike, you better hope it doesn’t break. If the dealer doesn’t have what you need in stock, you’re going to wait.
Motion Pro cables are as good or better than OEM. Buy direct from MP and get them quick. The experienced XS650 folks don’t buy cables from MikesXS. They’re likely to leave you stranded. However, MikesXS reacts and ships very quickly.

Ran into an issue last year/earlier this year from Bike Bandit-they would not refund my money for parts they didn't have in stock. Had to file a dispute with my bank to get money refunded. Going to but another Motion Pro cable just so I have it.

I just ordered a cable from Motion Pro and set up an account. I already have their auxiliary fuel tank and that works great.
