  • New guy here with an issue that might need a tissue.

Good afternoon folks. I'm over in the UK and bought an eleven a couple of years ago. With the eleven (which still has no spark but that's for another day,) I was given another frame and engine for a midnight. Awesome right? Well not really. I have a massive vin issue.

Allow me to show you exhibit A. Now I'm pretty sure it's not an XS250. Due to the fact that it's an 1100 frame. Stranger still, the engine number is this. 2H7. That's it. Nothing else. It doesn't look as if it's been altered in any way either.

What are your thoughts? I don't have any decent pics of Spryo at the minute but I can post what I have if you fellers want to see it.
If I had a penny for every time I had to answer the front door. I would have £5.87 now.

The 2H7 on the engine is from a factory replacement case. When someone broke the factory case, the replacement set would only have the 2H7 stamp, and beyond that the case should just have the fine lines that was for the VIN stamp. If it's smooth across the area, it was probably altered. The frame I'm not sure about. Is it painted or powder coated? If powder coated, it may have been "built" by someone from parts. The welds actually look better than what the factory was, as there is no splatter, but the welds don't look ground down from a simple clean up with a grinder/sander.

ok so it's a factory casing then as the 2h7- has the same lines after it.

The frame is powder coated. I can understand it being "built" from parts but to have the wrong vin? That's where I'm confused as it's a 10 digit vin. There is no paperwork with it at all.

      Thanks for the reply.
