  • issue before carb problem

So, when I cleaned the carbs and installed them back on the bike, I was ready to ride the bike from my old storage unit to my new one maybe 3 minutes from my apartment. I took off a vacation day from work and rode to my storage unit. I pushed the starter button and nothing-not cranking, no noise at all. I checked the fuses and when I pushed the button, the bike started and ran until I shut it off. I moved my Jeep, put on my gear and went to start the bike and ride off. The bike would not start-no cranking again, nothing I tried worked. I had no tools in my Jeep and could not remove the seat or tank. I had to have the bike towed to my mom's house as a storm was predicted and I needed to get the bike out before the end of the month. When the bike was towed to mom's house, I removed the seat and tank. The connector that connects the starter button to the harness had worked itself loose. Plugging it into the connector, the bike started. I bought some 2 " black shrink tubing and slid it over the connector. I used a heat gun and now the connector won't work loose. It is sealed with the adhesive and is tight. It is probably overklill but if that connector worked loose, I would be stranded somewhere.

Thanks- towing was not cheap either to be towed 8 miles. Driver originally said it was 15 miles. Only 8 miles to my mom's house.
