  • Broke off terminal in stock fuse panel

Had to pull 30 Amp original fuse from 42 year old bike...so you can guess what happened....

Quick/easy way to get this to work? Just wanted tobstart to run gas+StaBill through carbs for winter storage...while cranking headlight and meter were off then on then off...pulled side cover and fuse was bad. When i grabbed it gently the one side of prong/holder snapped off clean. See pics.

I know how to fix it correctly (have new modern fuse block and all the goodies)....BUT what is the best fast way to fix it so i can ride it a tiny bit and put away for winter?

I would cut the wires off close to the fuse panel and install an inline fuse holder with butt connectors. Any auto parts store will have them. Looks like you have one on there already. Click image for larger version Name:	fuse holder.jpg Views:	0 Size:	76.0 KB ID:	866933

If you already have the new blade type box and fuses then just go ahead and do the swap. Why buy something you will soon not need? It is not that big of a job and doesn't really take that long to swap it out.
        2 - 80 LGs bought one new

Saving for another potential build and this bike is being sold. If the new owner wants the conversion pieces i will certainly throw them in. I have 8 soon to be 9 motorcycles....lots of projects between now and spring....don't need another one!

            1979 XS1100SF (stock-euro mods planned)
            1984 XV700L Virago (to be hot-modded)
            1983 XJ750MK Midnight Maxim (semi-restored DD)
            1977 XS650D ( patiently awaiting resto)

Sometimes it takes a whole tank of gas before you can think straight.
