    Any thoughts on these?

Mikes XS sells them too. I want gas shocks but not the cheap rfy ones, those seem to be rated at 400lbs. Dishing out 1300 on Ohlins for 40 year old bike does not make sense to me.

Are the springs 400lb each, or a set? The XS1100 is almost 570lb wet, plus rider. If the spring can be set up correctly, they should work well. I would see if they have a pair with heavier springs, just for a little room with the mass of the bike.

XS1100 SF Bob Jones worked on it!

Agree. Just because it fits doesn't mean it's right. An XS650 and an XS1100 don't use the same spring. The fitment chart implies they do. The weight of the rider is also a factor. Buy shocks from someone who can match rider and bike to the correct springs.

Hi Banshee,,,,,do a search, there are plenty of good shocks available for the xs,,,,,,the honda 1100,1300, the harley air shocks,,,,all available used for under 100.00 on ebay or craigslist or letgo.com. I have used the xj1100 shocks for the xs and they are great but now, pretty scarce. So,,,do recommend the search section for shocks,,,,and the honda's, are a direct fit, along with the harley air shocks. Measure the length to mount holes to match up.....good luck,,,,Mike in San Diego
