The fill plugs for servicing diff and final drive

Hey, guys. While I have changed the gear oils in my bike and it won't need to be done again for sometime I would still like to have plugs that aren't chewed to hell because the tools used to remove them before were incorrect.
I managed to get them off, drain and refilled and back on again but not with great confidence. I've looked around ( of course discontinued as far as I found ) and been unsuccessful. If there's any chance of finding
replacements it's with you guys, so TIA.

Are they the same? Same number comes up for both of your suggestions. - #90340-14002-00

Thanks again! Three hours later and my question is resolved. Wow.
I'm still thrilled with the replies I got here about my starter problem that saved me a buttload of money on an unnecessary repair -because I had simply used the wrong weight engine oil. WOOT!

JonnyO, if you'll go to your local Ace or Tru-Valu and in those specialty trays you'll find hex head plugs that fit perfect. Along with those you'll find the thick fiber gaskets that fit perfectly over threads of plugs. Using these enable you to use a wrench to remove and replace them. Been there and made that change many years back and never looked back.

Most ACE hardware stores have a pretty broad selection of metric fasteners and fittings in both steel and stainless. I visit ACE frequently.

I would add that applying some anti seize to the threads when installing them will prevent the vice grips in the future.

Yamaha still sells these, even the plastic caps that keeps the dirt out are still available..
